The Faculty of Law and Political Science (FLPS) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) and in honor of the late gender studies professor, Dr. Rita Sabat, will present on Friday, September 29, 2017, a curriculum on Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the Abou Khater Auditorium, Main Campus.
This event will be held in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Institute for Women's Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) at the Lebanese American University and it will be followed by a workshop on SGBV from 2:00 till 4:30 p.m.
Background:
During the previous six months a Curriculum Committee, comprising of eight professors and professionals from diverse backgrounds, developed this new Gender/SGBV course, which specifically focuses on Lebanese university students. For the first time, the curriculum will be presented at noon in Abou Khater Auditorium, NDU Main Campus, and will be open to all students and faculty.
The noontime presentation will be followed by a workshop from 2:00 p.m. till 4:30 p.m. and will focus on the details of the curriculum organized by the professionals responsible for its content.
Keynote speakers will include IWSAW Director Lina Abirafeh and UNFPA representative Asma Kurdahi.
This event is open to the public.
